| Are
your Microsoft Office? Programs
protected from the most recently discovered vulnerabilities? Are
you sure?
Most people assume Automatic Windows? updates
keeps Word, Excel, and Outlook up-to-date with the most recent security
patches but this is NOT the case by default.
You'll want to
be sure to check into this by first going to the Microsoft website and then
clicking on "Office Update".
Here's the link:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx
You'll then want to click on the "Check For Updates" button and follow the
prompts.
After you are up-to-date, you'll want to convert the Windows Update
routine to Microsoft Update. To do this you can open up Internet Explorer and
click on the "Tools" menu and then "Windows Update". Once that opens up, if
you see the "Office Update" and "Microsoft Update" buttons across the top, you
don't have their newly integrated feature turned on. To do this, you'll want
to click "Microsoft Update" and follow the prompts. This will make your
Automatic Updates include both the Windows OS and Office Suite updates as one
would expect.
If you have any questions about these steps you can take advantage of any of
